Route
description
The
route begins in the centre of Jastrebarsko 1 on the western side of the city park. After 2.5 km of riding, you will enter
into Črnilovec. At the entrance into the settlement, there
is a slight uphill section 2 . After approximately 5 km from the starting point, you will enter into Miladini.
In Miladini, turn left at the intersection in the direction
of Srednjak, and at the next intersection at point 3 turn towards Belčiće. After the downhill section, you will arrive at a T intersection
and point 4 . Turn left here in the direction of Brezari and Petrovina. In Brezari you will
see the equestrian club on the left hand side of the road.
At the next intersection 5 , 9.8 km from the route starting point, you will pass by the turnoff to the right
for the village of Rastoki, well known for its pottery.
The route continues left along the main road towards Petrovina.
At the chapel at the Y intersection, with roads heading
for Petrovina and Slavetić, continue along the left fork
for Petrovina. In the settlement of Petrovina is the very valuable Church of St. Peter, a unique cultural monument of the
highest value in the Jaska region. Its late Gothic frescos
from the mid 15th century, old Gothic ribs in the sanctuary,
the bell tower and the altar - the finest example of early
Mannerist altars from the mid 17th century in northwestern
Croatia –make this church one of the most significant sacral
structures in this part of Croatia. 6 . A steady uphill climb along the paved road through a lovely pine wood. At the
top of the climb is the entrance to the settlement of Brebrovac
and an intersection, continue straight on downhill.
After
the descent, you will arrive at an intersection 13.6 km
from the route starting point and point 7 . After the climb, 600 m from the chapel, continue along the gravel road until
it meets up with the main road Petrovina – Slavetić. Drive
along the ridge and enjoy the magnificent views of the
entire region. At the chapel situated at the intersection,
turn left towards Slavetić, and take the steep downhill
along the paved road all the way to the Church of St. Anton
the Hermit and the parish office, which comprises a harmonic
complex that dominates this part of the Plešivica region
and gives it a special view. From the plateau next to the
church, 16.3 km from the route starting point, you can
enjoy spectacular vistas, and this is an excellent spot
for a short and well deserved break. The Slavetić estate was first mentioned back in 1249, and since that time changed owners
many times until 1486 when it came into the possession
of the Oršić family as a gift by the King Matija Korvin.
In the second half of the 17th century, the Oršić family
took up constant residence in the Slavetić fortress, which
became the centre of their vast manor. They also initiated
the establishment of the parish in Slavetić, which was
established in 1661. Continue on straight along the road
through the settlement to the Oršić castle.
Take
a break by the castle, as an especially lovely view of
the entire Slavetić-Krašić region awaits you. Here pay
attention to the possibility of turning off route A from Slavetić through Dol and Pribić to Krašić and the possibility of connecting
this map no. 5 with the cycling routes on the map no. 4
and the ride through the area of Krašić and Vivodina, as
well as some parts of Žumberak area. 8 The settlement of Slavetić is well known for its well preserved autochthonous
wooden homes, especially on this part of the route. At
house number 35, turn right and head downhill. Hiking trail
markings continue on straight towards Žumberak and the
village of Tihočaj. After the downhill section, there is
a left turn and a steep uphill climb, which will take you
to the gravel road passing through the forest, a pleasant
ride. In the town of Goljak continue along the paved road.
At house number 7, pay attention as there is a sharp right
turn heading into a steep downhill section 9 . Caution, the downhill section is steep and demanding, with a sharp left turn 10. After the downhill section, you will arrive at the intersection with the chapel "Saint Anne pray for us" (1995), and continue riding straight along the chapel and house number 35. You
will arrive at the top of the hill where a downhill descent
begins. At the next intersection, turn left downhill. The
right hand road leads to the Chapel of St. Vid. After the
descent to point 11 near the chapel in the town of Hrašća, built in the second half of the 19th
century, turn right. At the intersection with the main
road, turn left at point 12. In Draga Svetojanska near the Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity 13 turn right and head uphill. After taking the half-turn to the left at point 14 continue alongside the school through Gorica Svetojanska towards Ivančići. We
recommend you take a look at the ethnography collection
of the Sveta Jana region, situated in the District elementary
school (visitation by appointment, see blue route).
At the
next intersection, turn left uphill off the main road for
Malunje and Jastrebarsko in the direction of Ivančići and
Šumski dvor. 15 The uphill climb is a steady one, and so it is good to take a rest and relax
in the restaurant "Šumski dvor" situated on the plateau under Japetić (about a one hour walk up the hiking trails
marked from the restaurant will take you to the highest
peak of the Samobor mountains at 870 m). Šumski dvor is
an excellent viewing point. Continue riding in the direction
of Prodin Dol and follow the signs for the restaurant and
excursion point "Klet Jana". At Prodin Dol, turn right off the main road and head downhill 16 and follow the course of the creek Malunja. The route continues along a gravel
road. The region is fantastic and you are surrounded by
many vineyards and details of nature which will long remain
in your memory. Klet Jana is a good place for rest and
refreshment. From Klet Jana, the route continues along
the gravel road to the intersection with the road from
Gorica Svetojanska, where you will again come onto a paved
road in the settlement of Malunja. Caution is required,
as you are entering onto the main road Gorica Svetojanska
– Jastrebarsko! The main road passes through Malunje Donje
and continues alongside the Chapel of the Mother of God
of the Holy Rosary. Continue on towards Jastrebarskom through
Malunje Gornje with its Chapel of the Holy Cross. The only winery suitable for a rest and to buy some wine
before the end of the route in Hrastje Plešivičko. 17 At the intersection at point 18 turn right along the military barracks complex, and then left to return to the
route starting point.

Cultural-historical
values along the route
- Erdödy Castle,
Jastrebarsko
- Church of St.
Peter, Petrovina – the parish was first mentioned in the list of parishes in 1334. The original
Gothic medieval structure was adapted and added on
to in the 17th century when the church received its
characteristic Baroque sacral architecture. The church
contains very valuable late Gothic frescos from the
middle of the 15th century, which were uncovered
during the restoration works in 1980, as was the
Gothic window showing scenes of the Passion of Christ,
the only example of its kind in northern Croatia.
Preserved in the nave are the early Mannerist altars
from the 17th century of Michael the Archangel and
the Sorrowful Blessed Virgin Mary, one of the loveliest in northwestern Croatia, the late Mannerist altar from the 17-18th
century of St. Anton in the side chapel, the wooden
pulpit and the organ from 1821.
- Church of St.
Anton the Hermit, Slavetić – built in about 1600, and the parish was established in 1661. Situated under
the walled plateau of the hill just opposite the
old town Oršić surrounded by a low stone wall. Together
with the parish manor and other buildings, this forms
a unique monument. In 1671, the large sanctuary and
bell tower were built and the Chapel of the Assumption
of the Blessed Virgin Mary was added when the church
was consecrated. In 1735, the Chapel of St. Anne
was added on next to the sanctuary and the church
was painted. In 1837, the bell tower was erected
and the choir section was added.
- Oršić Castle,
Slavetić – first mentioned in 1249 as part of the foothill region parish, and after changing
owners several times, in came into possession of
the Oršić family in 1468 who held the estate until
1869 when it came under the ownership of Levin Rauch.
It was originally constructed as a medieval burg
with a Gothic town core, guard tower and palace,
while adaptations and additions from the 16-18th
centuries turned the burg into a spacious castle.
The greatest works took place in 1639 (date engraved
on the castle entrance gates) and in 1763 (date engraved
on the right side of the building).
- Chapel of St.
Vitus, Hrašća – this chapel is situated above the village and the SRC Svetojanske toplice
on the hill among the vineyards and was first mentioned
in 1264. In 1448, the Oršić family gave the land
for the chapel and the new walled chapel was erected
from 1741-1744. The main altar of St. Vitus (Vid),
with its original appearance from 1753 and its central
motif of the Passion of St. Vitus, is preserved within
the chapel.
- Šumski dvor Manor,
Gorica Svetojanska – a free standing one-story structure, constructed in 1656, situated on the
slopes of the hill above Sveta Jana.
